You will need to know your computer name in order to connect to your office computer with VPN and Remote Desktop, or if you are calling the SOD Help Desk for assistance with your computer and requesting us to connect to your computer remotely to help.
- You can find your computer name one of two ways:
- You can right-click your start menu button:
- Click on System
- Under “Device Specifications” you will find your Device Name(Computer Name)
- You can right-click your start menu button:
- Or:
- Double click on the LANDesk Remote Control icon in the lower right corner of your computer. The icon looks like a small remote control pointing diagonally.
- Your computer name will be highlighted in blue. You will need to add .dental.umaryland.edu to the end.
