Resetting Internet Explorer settings is a quick fix for a variety of common problems. Because IE is integrated into Windows, it cannot be completely uninstalled, but these steps will restore it to its original configuration.
- NOTE: Your home page will be reset to its default, your browsing history will be deleted, and any AutoComplete web addresses (the ones that appear under the address bar while you type) will be deleted. Your saved Favorites will NOT be deleted.
- Click on Tools or the gear icon, then Internet Options.
- Click on the Advanced tab.
- Click on the Reset... button in the lower part of the window.
- Check Delete personal settings and click on Reset.
- Restart Internet Explorer.
